GDPR, Cyprus Data Protection Law & the EU AI Act

Course Overview:

The “GDPR, Cyprus Data Protection Law & the EU AI Act: Practical Compliance for Cyprus Entities in 2026” course provides an enhanced and detailed overview of the GDPR, Cyprus Law 125(I)/2018 and the EU AI Act, with a practical focus on how AI-enabled systems affect data protection obligations in Cyprus. The course is designed for regulated and non-regulated entities and explains how to implement data protection and AI governance controls in day-to-day operations, systems and technologies.

The training covers core GDPR principles, lawful processing, data subject rights, automated decision-making, DPO and DPIA requirements, technical and organisational measures, breach response, cloud and vendor management, international transfers, retention, sector-specific expectations and Cyprus local law considerations. It also explains how AI Act obligations – including AI literacy, transparency, risk management, data governance, logging, documentation, human oversight, accuracy, robustness and cybersecurity – should be integrated into a GDPR compliance framework.
